Feb 2009: My 1st Muay Thai ringside experience:

When the event started, much to my surprise, the stage set-up, the lighting, the sound system, the pyrotechnics were awesome – more than what my tickets were worth. The event organizer did a professional job! Syabas

When the fight started, the strong smell of ‘minyak urut’ or Deep Heat was lingering everywhere near the arena, the sound of a live ‘nobat’ band playing in the background for every fight..for a moment it felt like I was taken in ancient mystical arena in Thailand..

Very Impressive and I was glad it was a 2-day event. Those who wish to organize Muay Thai events should take this set-up as a benchmark.

The bad thing was – I didn’t have a good camera or video at on the 1st day so I took a drastic decision by buying a video-cam at the last moment.

This is a short clip to show you what I saw during the opening ceremony, lights, music – the works
